Sundays at Tiffany's by James Patterson and Gabrielle Charbonnet: Review

Overview:
Jane was eight-years-old when her beloved imaginary friend, Michael, left. He was her only friend and he swore that she wouldn't remember anything about his existence, but she vowed to never forget him. Now, twenty-or-so years later, their paths cross in New York City. Jane is a Broadway producer at her mother's company and Micheal is still an imaginary friend-on vacation. The two fall into passionate love and it is up to the universe to decide if they can stay together.

Review:
This book is by far Mr. Patterson's best masterpiece. I loved every page of it. It's a wonderful summer read, because it's short and sweet. I was drawn in by the magic of the story. I mean, how cool would it be if your imaginary friend found you when you were grown up?! I recommend this book very strongly.

Overall Rating out of 5: 4.8

Characters:
Jane Margaux- sweet, a short of push-over, needs to live a little
Michael- fun, lovable, a little insecure
Vivianne Margaux- control freak

Clockwork Princess Countdown Widget! ahhh!!

Confessions of Two Twisted Teens: Clockwork Prince Countdown

City of Bones by Cassandra Clare:Review

Overview:
This is the first book in Cassandra Clare's world-wide best selling series The Mortal Instruments. So far there are five books in the series, but a sixth one (City of Heavenly Fire) is due sometime in the next two years.

City of Bones centers on fifteen-year-old Clary Fray who is a headstrong heroine and one of the main characters of the book. The story takes off when Clary meets Jace, a cocky pretty boy who knows how to throw a punch. They are instantly smitten with each other, but an unforeseeable twist involving the pair will thrust avid readers into a tizzy.
But the love story is not all that this book offers. See, Jace is part of a century's old group known as "Shadowhunters." Badass MOFOs who kill demons and "Downworlders"(vampires, werewolves...). Turns out that Clary's mom is keeping a secret about her past and Clary's father, Valentine, just might be back to kill all of the Shadowhunter race.
Find out if Clary really does belong in Jace's world and if they can stop Valentine before it's too late.

Personal Review:

This is seriously one of the best series starters I have ever read. The entire book was filled with epic battle scenes, passionate love (ok, not really...), and a not-so-wonderful twist at the end. I have to say, the twist at the end of the novel is what made me want to keep reading. I was so shocked and angry and thrilled all at the same time. I didn't know what to do with myself. I had to read the second book and fortunately for me, I was reading this after the second book had been released.
Cassandra Clare really hit the jackpot with this first novel.

Overall rating out of 5: 4.7

Characters:
Clary Fray- artistic, ginger, wild
Jace Wayland-Lightwood- cocky, badass, hot, smexy, loveable, annoying, THE BEST CHARACTER  IN THE ENTIRE BOOK!
Simon Lewis-Clary's best friend, nerdy
Isabelle Lightwood- spunky, good fighter, bitchy
Alec Lightwood- conservative, bffs w/ Jace
Mangus Bane- exotic Warlock

Welcome to Book Geeks! :)

Hi, everyone!
My name is Sara and I'll be the moderator of this fine blog. So, before I begin to introduce you to fabulous books, let me tell you a bit about myself and what I am planning on doing with this blog.
So, first off-me. I'm a high school student who adores reading. I basically read anything and everything I pick up. I have a job at the wonderful TJ Maxx and I also work at a golf course...caddying. FML. Whatever. I sing, act, dance, read (obviously), and I also have written my own book and am planning on getting it published. Ideally, I would love to work on Broadway, but if that ship doesn't leave the harbor, I will be a Psychologist. So, if you ever need to talk, I'll listen.
Now, on to the blog. Here I was thinking of having reviews of books that I love and trying out new books for you guys to enjoy. I've read many and I'm sure I can find lots of them to blog about. I'll even post the crappy ones that I didn't enjoy...maybe you'll love them! So, on that note...WELCOME TO BOOK GEEKS!!
